Victor Chevalier

I lead software engineering for cybersecurity at Stratascale, where I am responsible for Vector0, our continuous threat exposure management platform, and the security automation engineering function.

My background is in software and security engineering. Before moving into engineering management I worked across product development, offensive security tooling and security architecture. Twelve years at AT&T covered consumer product security, vulnerability research and security architecture, including the fuzzing and firmware testing tools I wrote in Python for platforms that were already deployed. Earlier, at General Dynamics C4 Systems, I developed cleared software for U.S. Intelligence Community customers — PKI and certificate management in C++ and OpenSSL, and later the abstract MLS library the multi-level secure products were built on.

The work now sits between engineering leadership and the systems themselves: attack-surface discovery, graph-based exposure modeling, security automation, and the practical use of AI in software engineering.

Outside work I build and maintain ailocal and Cadence. I use this site to document those projects and publish the engineering behind them: architecture decisions, experiments, benchmarks, failures, and what changed as a result.
