Who I am

I didn’t take a straight road into coaching—and I wouldn’t want to. Long before I ever touched a barbell, I was coaching marathon runners. I dove into the POSE Method and got hooked on efficient, injury-resistant movement patterns. Ironically, it was right around that time that I hurt my back. Lifting heavy, moving poorly, thinking I was invincible.
The injury changed everything. I couldn’t walk for six months. Getting groceries felt like summiting Everest. But rock bottom gave me a blueprint. With the help of Dr. Nick Askey, I rebuilt from scratch. I relearned how to move, not just to lift, but to live.
That process taught me how fragile strength is when it’s built on bad patterns and how powerful it becomes when it’s rebuilt with intention. I got obsessed with form, movement, and the little things that make the big things work. That obsession turned into a mission: to help others get strong without wrecking themselves in the process.
I’m a certified personal trainer through ISSA, a certified Precision Nutrition coach, and a marathon coach with a background in the POSE Method. Whether I’m helping someone fix their squat pattern or shave time off their next race, I always come back to the same core principle: move with purpose or pay the price.
But I’m more than the certifications. I’m a nerd who loves fixing things, from busted tech to busted movement patterns. I like seeing how things tick, whether it’s a carburetor or a barbell. I grew up outdoors, and I’m never too far from nature, motorcycles, RV roads, or the next coffee stop.

To me, strength isn’t just physical, it’s mental, mechanical, and even a little philosophical. That mindset bleeds into everything I do.

Why IronZoo

IronZoo was never just about reps and macros. It started in my garage and followed me across the country, through injuries, late nights, gym PRs, RV road trips, and way too much coffee. It grew out of a need to blend freedom with structure, to train hard, live smart, and stay sharp even when life gets messy.
Whether I’m chasing PRs, carving new roads on the motorcycle, or hiking trails with my dog Zoe, one truth keeps showing up: strength is not optional. You either build it, or life exposes where you’re weak.
At IronZoo, we focus on functional programming, tactical mindset, and realistic routines. I build training plans that respect your body, match your lifestyle, and push your edge without shattering your foundation. It’s coaching that meets you where you are. whether that’s in a gym, a garage, a parking lot, or a mountaintop.

This isn’t a brand. It’s a way of moving through the world, with grit, purpose, and just enough chaos to keep it fun.

Beyond the Gym

As IronZoo grew, so did the mission. What started in my garage became a way of life I carry with me, through changing cities, new routines, and different roads. Whether I’m on two wheels or two feet, IronZoo principles follow.
Life doesn’t slow down, and neither do you. One of my biggest passions is helping people stay grounded and consistent, even when they’re constantly on the move. Whether I’m troubleshooting an engine, setting up shop in a new city, or hunting for the best food truck on the road, I believe routine isn’t something you leave behind when you travel, it’s something you bring with you.
This site will grow to include not just fitness, but the full picture: road-tested workouts, honest food finds, places worth pulling over for, and reflections from the road. You don’t have to give up progress just because you’re changing zip codes.
In the future, this space will grow.

Expect blogs on training, travel, food, places worth seeing, and the kind of thoughts that come from the road or the rack.
